Message from the Nurse

National Hand-Washing Awareness

With two simple strategies you can increase healthy days versus sick days.  Washing hands and keeping them away from touching one’s face are the key factors to staying healthy.  Educate your children on how they can keep from “giving themselves” germs and becoming ill with viruses and other infections.  It’s easy, however it takes practice. Just follow these important tips.  Infection prevention is everyone’s business.

Here are the 4 Principles of Hand Awareness to Stop the Spread of Germs:

1. Wash your hands when they are dirty, AFTER using the bathroom and BEFORE eating.
2. DO NOT cough into your hands. Cough into your bent elbow.
3. DO NOT sneeze into your hands.  Sneeze into your bent elbow.
4. Above all, DO NOT put your fingers into your nose or mouth, and DO NOT touch your eyes.

Best wishes,
